Job summary

Mercor connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs. We seek a Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) Expert for data centers on a remote contract basis.

You will review complex tasks, focusing on cooling, hydronic systems, HVAC, and electrical design, while ensuring compliance with codes and data sheets. The role is contract-based, remote, with 5–10 hours per week and immediate start.

Qualifications

• Must-have: 2+ years of experience in data-center or mission-critical MEP design.
• Strong command of data-center systems and relevant codes.
• Ability to interpret large document sets and explain technical issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Review complex engineering tasks in data-center environments focusing on cooling, hydronic, HVAC and electrical systems.
• Check engineering assumptions, calculations and standards; ensure compliance with codes and equipment data.
• Identify ambiguities and improve task prompts, acceptance criteria and rubrics.
• Validate corrected tasks end to end and produce clear technical findings.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines.

Compensation: $100–$140/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 5–10 hours/week
