Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
• Relevant professional certification and registration (where applicable).
• 1–3 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and analyses on patient specimens.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results through QC/QA procedures.
• Review, validate, and report laboratory findings in a timely manner.
• Follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Collect, process, and prepare specimens for testing.
• Maintain accurate records and inventory of supplies.
• Participate in proficiency testing, audits, and accreditation activities.
• Assist in evaluating and implementing new methods and technologies.

Medical Technologist for Parkway Labs / Parkway Hospitals

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and analyses on patient specimens, including blood, urine, tissue, and other body fluids.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results through quality control and quality assurance procedures.
• Review, validate, and report laboratory findings in a timely manner.
• Follow laboratory safety protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collect, process, and prepare specimens for testing according to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, documentation, and inventory of laboratory supplies.
• Participate in proficiency testing, audits, and accreditation activities.
• Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new laboratory methods and technologies.
• Collaborate with pathologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Investigate and resolve testing discrepancies and equipment-related issues.
• Provide guidance and training to junior laboratory staff, laboratory assistants, and students when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Laboratory Medicine, or related discipline.
• Relevant professional certification and registration (where applicable).
• Minimum 1-3 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory operations, quality management systems, and safety standards.
• Proficient in laboratory information systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office applications.
