Job summary

JAC Recruitment client in Singapore seeks an experienced Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer to lead HVAC projects from design review through commissioning.

The role requires 3–5 years for Engineer, 8+ years for Manager, with strong AutoCAD and BIM/Revit skills, and knowledge of local codes. You will supervise on-site activities and coordinate with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years HVAC/ACMV building services for Engineer; 8+ years for Manager with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of local mechanical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Proficiency in engineering/drafting software (AutoCAD; BIM/Revit advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Manage HVAC/ACMV projects from planning to handover.
• Review mechanical design calculations, specifications and drawings.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors and internal teams.
• Supervise on-site installations, monitor progress and enforce safety/quality.
• Procure equipment, evaluate vendors and manage subcontractors.
• Lead and mentor engineers and supervisors for project schedule and resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute Mechanical (HVAC/ACMV) engineering projects from initial planning and design review through to installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
• Review and prepare mechanical design calculations, technical specifications, and working drawings to ensure full compliance with project requirements and statutory codes.
• Coordinate seamlessly with clients, consultants, main contractors, and internal project teams to ensure the effective integration of HVAC systems with other engineering and architectural disciplines.
• Supervise on-site installations, monitor daily work progress, and strictly enforce site safety and quality control standards.
• Oversee equipment and material procurement, evaluate vendor submissions, and manage subcontractor performance.
• Conduct regular site inspections, actively participate in project meetings, and prepare accurate site progress documentation.
• For the Managerial role: Lead, mentor, and direct a team of engineers and supervisors, taking ownership of the overall project schedule, resource allocation, and operational performance.

Key Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in HVAC/ACMV building services for the Engineer role; 8+ years of experience with a proven track record in project leadership for the Manager role.
• Strong working knowledge of local mechanical codes, statutory regulations, and industry safety standards.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD; experience with BIM/Revit is a strong advantage).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach to resolving site-specific technical challenges.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
