Job summary

Linde in Singapore seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing contractor maintenance activities in a gas processing environment.

You will review assessments, support RCAs, and ensure up-to-date equipment records, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance. Strong knowledge of API/ASME standards is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of maintenance experience in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry; diploma with 7 years preferred.
• Experience in a Gas Plant (Gasification/SMR/ASU) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of design and maintenance of mechanical equipment (steam boilers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, piping, valves, compressors, pumps).
• Knowledge of API, ASME standards for mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Planning, execution and monitoring of contractor routine and non-routine maintenance activities.
• Troubleshooting or guidance when issues arise.
• Planning and coordination of shutdown maintenance activities for mechanical equipment according to PM requirements and industry best practices.
• Review risk assessments and maintenance procedures regularly.
• Maintain equipment modification and rerating records.
• Identify discrepancies in plant equipment records or field conditions.
• Support RCA for process incidents and follow up on corrective actions.

Job description

• Planning, execution and monitoring of contractor routine and non-routine maintenance activities.
• Perform troubleshooting or provide guidance where issues arise.
• Planning and coordination of shutdown maintenance activities of mechanical equipment based on local and global PM requirements, vendor recommendations and industry best practices.
• Review risk assessments and maintenance procedures on a regular basis.
• Upkeep maintenance records for equipment modifications, repairs and rerating activities.
• Identify and update discrepancies in plant equipment records or field conditions.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for process incidents and process-induced mechanical failures, recommend corrective actions to permanently eliminate them, and follow up on closure of actions.
• Initiate Engineering Management of Change (EMOC) and execute changes for plant improvement and modification works.
• Support external and internal audits and ensure timely closure of audit actions.
• Identify bad actors in the plant and drive reliability improvement through implementation of short-term and long-term solutions.
• Review spare parts availability and initiate Bill of Materials (BOM) updates as required.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of maintenance experience in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry or Diploma holder with 7 years maintenance experience Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry preferred.
• Experience in a Gas Plant such as Gasification/SMR/ASU is an advantage
• Good knowledge on design and maintenance of mechanical equipment such as steam boilers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, piping, valves, compressors, pumps etc
