Job summary

SUNTec Construction Engineering Pte. Ltd. is seeking an M&E Engineer to plan, coordinate, supervise, and manage all mechanical and electrical works across project sites to meet safety, schedule, budget, and quality targets.

You will work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams throughout the lifecycle, review drawings, prepare plans, and ensure compliance with Singapore codes and standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in M&E construction projects.
• Experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, cleanroom, industrial, or commercial building projects is an advantage.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multi-disciplinary works.
• Proficient with Mechanical and Electrical systems and reading engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works at project sites.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and technical requirements before commencement.
• Prepare method statements, work schedules, and installation plans.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of M&E activities.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager to resolve technical and site issues.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and authorities regarding M&E works.
• Attend project meetings and site coordination discussions.
• Coordinate interfacing works between M&E and civil/architectural disciplines.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure installations comply with drawings and specs.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore codes, regulations, and project specs.
• Implement quality control procedures and perform inspections during installation.
• Support risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety initiatives.
• Review engineering drawings and submissions; prepare RFIs and material submissions.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, and system handover.

The role involves close coordination with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
• Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs), material submissions, and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, and system handover.
• Assist in resolving design discrepancies and technical issues during construction.
• Assist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers and subcontractors.
• Review material specifications and ensure timely procurement.
• Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
• Assist in project cost monitoring and variation claims.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Compile testing and commissioning reports.
• Prepare as-built drawings and project close-out documents.

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in M&E construction projects.
• Experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, cleanroom, industrial, or commercial building projects is an advantage.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multi disciplinary works.
• Good knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical systems.
• Familiarity with Singapore building regulations and industry standards.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of BIM, Revit, or Navisworks will be an advantage.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong project coordination and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Able to work independently and under pressure to meet project deadlines.
• A proactive team player with a positive attitude.
• Familiarity with cleanroom, HVAC systems, process piping, and utility systems will be an added advantage.
• Experience in testing and commissioning of M&E systems.
• Knowledge of ISO Quality Management and Workplace Safety requirements.
• Willing to travel between project sites.
• Immediate or short notice availability is preferred.
• Preferably able to communicate in Mandarin to liaise effectively with Mandarin-speaking clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
