Mechanical Design Expert
Location: Singapore
Employment type: Full-time
Vacancies: 1
About the Role
This role owns the mechanical architecture and detailed design of residential energy storage products, including installation, thermal performance, ingress protection, reliability, manufacturability, and appearance quality.
Key Responsibilities
- 1.Develop mechanical solutions for complete residential energy storage systems, battery packs, and inverters, including 3D models, engineering drawings, prototype follow-up, enclosures, mounting, thermal management, and water- and dust-resistant structures.
- 2.Optimize mechanical solutions based on product application needs and international certification requirements to meet ingress-protection, mechanical-strength, vibration, thermal, and corrosion-resistance targets.
- 3.Lead structural component selection, cost assessment, and manufacturability analysis. Coordinate production introduction and resolve assembly, process, and appearance issues during prototype, pilot-production, and mass-production stages.
- 4.Perform thermal and structural-strength simulation and reliability validation, and optimize system thermal design for different outdoor operating environments.
- 5.Produce mechanical drawings, bills of materials, process specifications, and test standards, and establish standardized mechanical design practices.
- 6.Perform tolerance-stack, dimensional, DFMEA, and design-for-manufacturing analyses and define critical mechanical characteristics and inspection requirements.
- 7.Participate in supplier reviews, tooling reviews, first-article approval, and corrective action for structural-component quality issues.
- 8.Work with certification and test teams to develop mechanical reliability and environmental validation plans and optimize designs based on test results.
Requirements
- 9.Bachelor's degree or above in mechanical design, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline. At least 10 years of mechanical design experience for energy storage products. Experience designing PCS or inverter structures is preferred.
- 10.Proficiency with mainstream 3D modeling and engineering drawing tools, with expertise in the mechanical, thermal, and water- and dust-resistant design of complete energy storage systems and battery packs.
- 11.Familiarity with applicable international product safety, ingress-protection, and mechanical reliability standards for energy storage products.
- 12.End-to-end experience from prototype development through mass production, familiarity with sheet-metal, plastics, and die-casting processes, and the ability to independently resolve mechanical assembly issues.
- 13.Able to prepare mechanical design, testing, and manufacturing documents in English.
- 14.Experience in tolerance-stack analysis, dimensional analysis, DFMEA, and design for manufacturing.
- 15.Familiarity with tooling, surface treatment, sealing, fastening, and assembly design is preferred.
