Job summary

EnviroDynamics Solutions Pte Ltd is seeking a senior hardware engineer in Singapore to lead power electronics development, from prototyping through to mass production readiness. You will collaborate with global suppliers and internal teams to evaluate feasibility and design trade-offs, and mentor junior engineers.

Candidates should have a Bachelors or Masters in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics, 10+ years hands-on hardware experience, strong PCB design and power semiconductor knowledge, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years hands-on hardware development with proven mass production experience.
• Strong board-level circuit design, schematic capture and PCB layout routing.
• Solid understanding of power semiconductors (MOSFETs, BJTs, op-amps, drivers, fuses, TVS/Zener).
• Proficiency in LTSpice, SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink and schematic/PCB tools (Altium/ Mentor Graphics).
• Deep thermal management knowledge and ability to troubleshoot EMC/EMI issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigation, prototyping, development, and system integration of power electronics tech.
• Partner with internal teams and external suppliers to assess feasibility of proposals.
• Present data-driven findings on BOM costs, risks, and development effort to leaders.
• Collaborate with Global Product Marketing and Product Engineering to transition designs to manufacturing.
• Mentor junior hardware engineers and build internal capabilities in electronics and simulation.

Key Responsibilities

• Technology Exploration: Lead the investigation, prototyping, development, and system integration of innovative power electronics technologies.
• Feasibility Assessments: Partner with internal technical teams and external global suppliers to rigorously evaluate the technical viability and commercial feasibility of new engineering proposals.
• Stakeholder Presentation: Present highly technical, data-driven findings regarding design trade-offs, bill of materials (BOM) costs, engineering risks, and development effort to cross-functional business leaders and global stakeholders.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Work alongside Global Product Marketing and Product Engineering teams to validate product concepts and smoothly transition designs from early-stage R&D to final manufacturing readiness.
• Knowledge Sharing: Mentor junior hardware engineers and actively build the organization's internal technical capabilities in advanced electronics and hardware simulation.

Key Requirements (Mandatory)

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering, or a strictly related technical field.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of hands-on hardware development experience with a clear, proven track record of bringing electronic products successfully to mass production.
• Power Design & Semiconductors: Strong experience in board-level circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout routing. Solid understanding of power semiconductors including MOSFETs, BJTs, Op-Amps, gate drivers, protection fuses, and TVS/Zener diodes.
• Design & Simulation Tools: High proficiency in simulation tools such as LTSpice, SPICE, or MATLAB/Simulink, alongside professional experience in schematic/PCB layout tools like Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, or equivalent.
• Thermal & Compliance: Deep understanding of thermal management techniques for high-current/high-power printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), paired with proven experience troubleshooting and solving EMC/EMI compliance failures.

Domain Specialisation (Must have at least ONE of the following)

• Battery Management Systems (BMS): Comprehensive hardware architecture design for multi-cell Lithium-ion battery packs, cell balancing, protection circuits, and fuel-gauging electronics.
• Motor Drive Systems: Deep engineering experience with AC or DC motor control topologies, specifically Brushless DC (BLDC) or Permanent Magnet DC (PMDC) motor drives, inverters, and timing/back-EMF analysis.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

• Experience designing AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion circuits.
• Familiarity with battery constant-voltage/constant-current (CV/CC) charging topologies.
• Knowledge of intelligent or fast-charging standards such as QuickCharge (QC) or USB Power Delivery (USB-PD).
