Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client is a leading multinational group specializing in the innovative design and development of hi‑tech solutions for clients across the globe. They now seek to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer who is looking for the challenge that this exciting environment brings. Reporting to the New Zealand business, the role is based in Singapore.

About the Role

This position has the responsibility to deliver designs that reflect ingenuity and meet customers' detailed and challenging specifications. The company uses Lean and Value Stream Map to stay focused and deliver to time and specification.

Qualifications

Candidates should have at least 5-8 years of experience in mechanical engineering in the design and manufacture of embedded electronic products and possess good knowledge of mechanical design principles and techniques including design for manufacture and assembly.

• Citizenship or Permanent Residence of Singapore, preferably with time spent in the Singapore Armed Forces.
• Strong experience with SolidWorks CAD and EPDM as well as strong skills with ruggedized design are essential.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical design principles and techniques including design for manufacture and assembly.
• Good knowledge of plastic injection‑moulded part design.
• Experience writing in‑depth technical reports.
• Knowledge of finite element structural analysis including calculations of stresses.
• Workshop experience is a plus.
• Fluent in English and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in the field of mechanical engineering.
