Job summary

I.EM Engineering Consultants Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer at mid level to plan and design mechanical services for building services projects, delivering buildable, timely, cost-efficient designs.

You will design systems such as air conditioning, ventilation, fire protection, medical gas, and sanitary systems, coordinate with architects and contractors, and prepare specifications and tender docs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 2 years’ hands-on design experience in engineering consultancy.
• Strong background in Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation design.
• Good knowledge of Singapore Code of Practice and submission process.
• Confident with presentation and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical services including A/C, MV, Fire Protection, Medical gas, Compressors and Sanitary systems.
• Present design concepts to clients.
• Prepare M&E cost estimates based on approved design schemes.
• Prepare technical specifications and tender documents.
• Coordinate M&E services within the office.
• Review shop drawings, material submissions and RFIs.
• Verify progress and handle variation orders for progress claims.
• Liaise with contractors and authorities to ensure compliance and timely completion.
• Carry out site investigations and submit technical reports.
• Manage designers.
