About Our Client
Our client is a Germany-based global specialist in engineering, procurement, and construction for ultra-clean, sustainable high-tech facilities serving the semiconductor, battery, biopharma, and data center sectors.
Job Summary
This leadership position directs the mechanical engineering discipline across complex, mission-critical facility projects. The role oversees the entire design lifecycle—from initial concepts through detailed engineering and on-site support—while ensuring strict compliance with rigorous industry standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide the mechanical design team in producing precise engineering documentation and specifications for cleanrooms, dry rooms, and other controlled environments.
- Oversee the engineering of high-performance systems, including HVAC, gas delivery, chemical supply, and utility infrastructure, ensuring alignment with ISO 14644, SEMI, and other relevant standards.
- Evaluate and sign off on mechanical design packages to guarantee reliability, maintainability, and sustainability, specifically for semiconductor fabrication and pharmaceutical production contexts.
- Work closely with electrical, process, and construction groups to resolve interface challenges and ensure the seamless integration of mechanical components within the broader facility architecture.
- Define and uphold design standards, quality control measures, and review protocols to reduce errors and rework throughout the EPC/EPCM delivery cycle.
- Provide technical direction during pivotal project stages, such as value engineering, constructability assessments, and on-site support for installation and commissioning.
- Develop senior engineers and designers to cultivate a high-performing team equipped to tackle complex, multi-disciplinary technical issues.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a closely related discipline.
- A minimum of ten years in mechanical design, including at least three years in a leadership or director-level capacity within the high-tech facilities, semiconductor, or life sciences industries.
- Demonstrated expertise in the design and engineering of cleanroom environments, gas/chemical systems, and high-performance ventilation for ultra-clean facilities.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant simulation or analysis platforms.
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations, such as ISO 14644, SEMI standards, ASHRAE, and local building codes.
- Proven capability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects from concept through commissioning within an EPC/EPCM framework.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with global clients and cross-functional teams.
