• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 20 years of design/construction experience in high-tech facilities
• At least 10 years of technical leadership on fast-track projects
• Strong expertise in HVAC, cleanroom systems, process utilities, mechanical infrastructure
• Experience in semiconductor fabrication facilities preferred
• Professional Engineer registration or relevant Master's degree an advantage
• Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management are essential

Director – Mechanical Engineering

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Director to lead concept design development for large-scale advanced technology facilities, including semiconductor, battery and high-tech manufacturing projects. This leadership position offers exposure to complex international projects, driving technical innovation, value engineering and multidisciplinary design solutions.

Responsibilities

Lead Mechanical Engineering concept development, delivering technically sound, cost-effective and constructable design solutions for advanced technology facilities. Provide technical leadership across HVAC, cleanroom systems, process utilities, exhaust, cooling water and other critical mechanical infrastructure. Drive upfront business development, client engagement, technical proposals, tendering and value engineering initiatives. Collaborate with global engineering teams to optimise system design, equipment selection, cost estimation and off-site manufacturing opportunities. Establish engineering standards, ensure regulatory compliance and design safety, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.

Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 20 years of relevant design and construction experience in high-tech manufacturing, industrial facilities or complex multidisciplinary engineering projects. At least 10 years of technical leadership experience on fast-track projects, with demonstrated experience managing and developing engineering teams. Strong expertise in HVAC, cleanroom systems, process utilities, mechanical infrastructure design and BIM-integrated engineering. Experience in semiconductor fabrication facilities or other advanced technology projects would be advantageous. Professional Engineer registration or a relevant Master's degree would be an advantage. Strong commercial awareness, stakeholder management, strategic planning and technical leadership capabilities are essential.
