Job summary

BAEK JAE PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment / PVD Machine Mechanic to maintain and repair Prefabricated Vertical Drain installation machines on-site.

You will troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical systems, perform preventive maintenance and overhauls, and ensure safe, reliable operation in ground-improvement projects. Experience with diagnostic tools and engines is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or related discipline.
• 3–5 years’ experience with PVD rigs or heavy equipment or ground improvement machinery.
• Strong background in hydraulic systems and engine servicing.
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and electronic service tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, servicing, and overhauls on PVD installation machines and related heavy equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns in real-time, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Inspect and maintain mast, drain cutter head, hydraulic rams, winch systems, clamps, and undercarriage/track systems.
• Oversee hydraulic pumps, hoses, cylinders, and power units, ensuring optimal pressure and flow.
• Carry out engine-related work such as component replacement, alignment, and performance testing.
• Use advanced diagnostic and calibration tools to monitor and troubleshoot machine systems.
• Support assembly, disassembly, and mobilization of PVD rigs when required.
• Maintain detailed service logs, inspection reports, and spare parts inventory.
• Ensure compliance with site safety requirements and project quality standards.
• Recommend and implement improvements for higher machine reliability and operational efficiency.

Education & Experience:

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working with PVD rigs, heavy equipment, or ground improvement machinery.
• Solid background in hydraulic systems, winch operations, and heavy-duty engine servicing (overhauls, replacements, calibration).
• Familiarity with modern diagnostic software and electronic service tools (for engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems).

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong expertise in hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, hydraulic schematics, and service manuals.
• Hands-on experience in engine servicing, system calibration, and component replacement.
• Familiarity with soil improvement or ground engineering methods (e.g., vertical drains, vibro-compaction) is an advantage.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance with heavy machinery operations.
• Independent problem-solving ability, with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset.

Preferred Background:

• Experience in international heavy equipment service environments or with OEM-authorised service procedures.
• Exposure to diagnostic tool usage, hydraulic calibration, and complete engine replacement/overhaul projects.
