Job summary

GDA HALALMEAT STORE PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a meat handler to cut, trim, and portion meat for display or order, using hand tools and equipment such as grinders, cubing machines, and power saws.

You will also clean fish and poultry, shape and tie cuts by hand, help with wrapping, weighing, and selling to customers, and assist with unloading deliveries and storing meat in refrigeration.

Qualifications

• Experience in meat cutting and handling preferred.
• Attention to food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to follow customer orders and display requirements.

Responsibilities

• Cuts and trims meat to display or order size using hand tools and equipment (grinder, cubing machine, power saw).
• Cleans and cuts fish and poultry.
• Shapes and ties meat cuts by hand using boning knife, skewers, and twine for roasts.
• Places meat in containers to be wrapped by others.
• Places meat on trays in display counter.
• Cleans the work area.
• Unloads meat from delivery trucks and stores meat in the refrigerator.
• Wraps and weighs meat for customers and collects payment.
• Inspects and grades meat and may be designated Meat Inspector.

• Cleans and cuts fish and poultry.
• May shape, lace, and tie meat cuts by hand, using boning knife, skewer, and twine to form roasts.
• May place meat in containers to be wrapped by other workers.
• May place meat on trays in display counter.
• May clean work area.
• May unload meat from delivery truck and store meat into refrigerator.
• May wrap and weigh meat for customers and collect money for sales.
• May inspect and grade meats and be designated Meat Inspector.
