Job summary

Ultra Clean Asia Pacific (UCT) in Singapore seeks a talented Materials Program Mgr I to optimize material planning, drive CTB processes, and minimize inventory exposure. You will coordinate with planners, production, and engineering to align on critical parts and lead initiatives to improve supplier performance.

Handling SAP/ERP-like MRP workflows, you will manage demand signals, develop regional sourcing strategies, and support phase-ins/phas-outs of components while communicating effectively

Qualifications

• Strong purchasing knowledge and established procurement practices.
• Solid data analysis capability to identify issues and implement solutions.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solid understanding of the Clear To Build (CTB) process and its use in pre-production.
• Familiarity with MRP system functionality and supply chain tooling.

Responsibilities

• Work with Planner to ensure visibility of current and future material issues.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Collaborate with Production Managers to align on critical production schedules.
• Develop supplier road maps and commodity strategies with engineering.
• Lead cross-functional teams to drive supplier performance and mitigate risks.
• Prepare CTB updates and reports for regional meetings.
• Support localization or regionalization of OEM and BTP parts with SCM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with Planner to ensure visibility of current & future material issues


• Work with Production Managers to understand Critical Production schedules


• Coordinates demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.


• Works with engineering to identify preliminary critical parts, long-lead parts and inspection requirements. Assists in developing supplier and commodity road maps to engineering.


• Material risk BOM analysis at project level :


• Design and collaboration with SCM on the inventory programs: VOI, JIT, discrete orders, etc. – driving lead-time reduction


• Recommend risk buy or consignment

(This relates to impact inventory liability, inventory turns, cash flow relief, etc. – due to upsides, downside, slow down of businesses more effectively)

• Burst demand request by customers – assess entire BOM materials lead-times, chronic suppliers, customer managed allocations , etc., then present from materials perspective how to support burst demand plan to support operations


• Work closely with Supply Chain Program managers for localization or regionalization of OEM & BTP parts


• Work with SCM on long term supply chain mitigation plan via localization or alternate sourcing to ease the supply chain for the Program/Tool.


• Leads internal tiger team that may include different functions and departments to drive supplier long-term issues and improve supplier performance.


• Provides inputs to engineering and SCM in supplier selection and assessment.


• Analyze system need dates, supplier commitments and current production status to identify critical material issues


• Lead clear to build (CTB) for pre-production build phases driving Global Shared Service team (GSS) with the directions and action plans.


• Report respective programs CTB updates in Regional meeting.


• Propose optimized supply planning to ensure on-time build schedule. Drive closure of materials issues


• Develop and execute risk/opportunity plans to meet program objectives & proactively manage mitigation plans


• Track KPI’s and generate Reports, Metrics & Presentations


• Support customer report (Materials Health Report, Customer OOR, Executive Reports) and Ad-hoc requirements.


• Consistently work on Demand & Supply to proactively identify gaps and work with planner buyers and Strategic procurement to eliminate the gaps


• Work with Engineering & Program Management to develop roadmaps for the phase-out of obsolete parts and phase-in of new product materials directed by customer.


• Be the focal point of communication with customer for the assigned project on materials related issue and attend customer meeting.


• Be the next escalation point after the category lead.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong purchasing knowledge including processes, tool, practices.


• Good data analysis capability to identify issue, develop solutions and implementation


• Good interpersonal and communication skills


• Strong understanding of the “Clear To Build” report


• Strong knowledge of MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) system functionality.

Educational/Certification Requirement:

• Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain Management or its equivalent

Experience Requirement:

• Knowledge of MRP system will be advantageous


• Minimum 6 – 8 years’ experience in manufacturing industry


• Prior experience in leading a team preferred


• Able to work in a fast paced environment
