Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Shipping Officer in Singapore to oversee air freight movements within service standards. You will handle customer and vendor communications, manage documentation, and support improvements in operational processes.

The role requires Nitec or higher, 1–3 years in air freight (preferred for Senior Shipping Officer), strong English, and good MS Office skills. On-site position in Singapore with a focus on accuracy and timely execution.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

• Ensure the accurate and timely movement of air freight to- and from specific locations within the service standards agreed with the Customer in compliance to country’s requirement.
• Handle all Customer / Vendor facing communication and shipment related internal communication between/with DSV stakeholders
• Provide Customers with proactive exception management in case of service quality deviations including follow-up and problem resolution
• Generate Invoice and verify cost accrual are for all shipment related charges within KPI timeline.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects related to business process improvement (Internal and External).
• Perform value-added task within the scope of the function to meet customer requirements and changes made in the operations process.
• Ensure all customs permit declaration are in compliance with Singapore Customs Regulations and Procedures.
• Create and manage air export documentation
• Ensure shipments are executed within timeline as per inhouse ISO procedure.
• Ensure email communication with customer and external documents are processed in a timely manner

Requirements

• Minimum Nitec and above.
• No working experience required in the air freight industry (For Shipping officer)
• Minimum 1-3 years of working experience in the air freight industry (For Senior Shipping officer)
• Knowledge of air freight, international trade and relevant laws, regulations, Supply Chain processes and procedures will be preferred
• Ability to multi-task
• Effective communication skills and professional communication etiquette
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Basic computer (Windows PC) skills
• Typing skills (at least 30 words per minute)
