Job summary

OCBC Group in Singapore is seeking a Securities Finance Operations Specialist to drive end-to-end processing and management of securities finance transactions, including lending, borrowing, repo, collateral and margin management. You will work with front office, risk, legal and technology teams to ensure efficiency, risk mitigation and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of securities finance operations experience.
  • Strong knowledge of securities lending, borrowing, repo and collateral management.
  • Familiarity with regulations and market practices in securities finance.
  • Proficient trade lifecycle management, settlement, and reconciliations.

Job Summary:

As a Securities Finance Operations Specialist, you will report to the Vice President of the Securities Finance Operations and play a critical role in the end‑to‑end processing and management of securities finance transactions including securities lending, borrowing, repo, corporate actions, collateral and margin management. You will ensure operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and compliance with regulatory requirements while collaborating closely with front office, risk, legal, and technology teams. We are looking for professionals with strong technical knowledge of securities finance products and proven operational expertise in a banking environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transaction Processing: Oversee the daily processing of securities lending, borrowing, and repurchase agreements (repo) transactions. Ensure accurate and timely settlement of trades, reconciliation of positions, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Corporate Actions: Familiar with Corporate Action event types, their application to the trade, and settlement.
  • Collateral Management: Manage collateral movements, margin calls, and substitution requests in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Monitor collateral valuations and ensure appropriate collateral coverage and haircuts are applied. collateral and margin settlement, month end fee and interest payment.
  • Risk and Compliance: Identify and elevate operational risks and exceptions in securities finance activities. Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines (e.g., SEC, MAS, HKMA) and internal controls. Support audit and regulatory reviews by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Process Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency through automation, process redesign, and technology adoption. Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to implement system enhancements and resolve operational issues.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a liaison between front office, middle office, risk, legal, and external counterparties to ensure smooth transaction flow. Provide timely and accurate reporting to management and external parties as required.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor junior team members and oversee their daily activities to ensure high‑quality output. Participate in training and development programs to upskill the team.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in securities finance operations, preferably within a bank or financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of securities lending, borrowing, repo transactions, and collateral management.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and market practices in securities finance.
  • Proficiency in trade lifecycle management, settlement processes, and reconciliations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.
  • Leadership experience or potential to lead a team is preferred.

The rank (Manager‑VP) offered will align with your demonstrated expertise and background.
