Job summary

Bureau Veritas Marine (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Marine Surveyor with strong classification and regulatory inspection capabilities.

The role requires conducting surveys, certifications and ISM/ISPS/MLC audits for ships-in-service, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and submitting precise reports within required formats and timeframes. Candidates should have a marine engineering or naval architecture background, or hold a CoC 1, plus several years of relevant surveyor

Qualifications

• Degree or certificate as required; relevant ship surveyor qualifications.
• Experience conducting surveys and audits per classification rules.
• Ability to prepare accurate survey and inspection reports within set formats and timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Undertake classification / certification and statutory surveys and inspections of ships-in-service.
• Carry out ISM/ISPS/MLC audits.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure survey reports and certificates are accurate, objective and timely.
• Keep up to date with new rules and regulations disseminated internally.

Job description

Functional Competencies:

• Undertake classification / certification and statutory surveys and inspections of ships-in-service according to rules and regulations.
• Carry out ISM/ISPS/MLC audits
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and ensure all survey / inspection reports (including survey certificates) are factual, objective and submitted within the stipulated format and timeframe.
• Keep up to date with new rules, regulations and technical information or process disseminated through internal communication.

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture or Certificate of Competency 1.
• Minimum 3 years relevant working experience as full fledge Marine surveyor in a classification society; or 6 years seafaring experience as foreign going engineer; or 8 years' experience as Technical Superintendent.
• Possess a Singapore Class 3 driving license
• Able to travel at short notice and accept short to mid-term overseas assignments as required.
