Job summary

A prominent marine services company in Singapore is seeking a Marine Surveyor to undertake classification and certification surveys for new construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture and at least 4 years of relevant experience in a classification society. Responsibilities include ensuring timely and accurate reports, staying updated on regulations, and participating in internal meetings. A valid Class 3 driving license is required, and training will be provided as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture or Certificate of Competency.
  • 4 years relevant experience as marine surveyor or 8 years seafaring experience as engineer.
  • Possess a Singapore Class 3 driving license.

Responsibilities

  • Classify and certify new construction projects based on regulations.
  • Ensure accurate survey and inspection reports are submitted promptly.
  • Stay updated with new rules and technical information.
  • Participate in necessary internal and external meetings.
  • Attend trainings to achieve agreed performance targets.

Job description
  • Undertake classification / certification and statutory surveys and inspections of new construction projects according to rules and regulations.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and ensure all survey / inspection reports (including survey certificates) are factual, objective and submitted within the stipulated format and timeframe.
  • Keep up to date with new rules, regulations and technical information or process disseminated through internal communication.
  • Participate in meetings (both internal and external) as required.
  • Attend all scheduled trainings (locally and overseas) and ultimately achieving specified delegations as agreed in Performance Management Process.
    Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture or Certificate of Competency
  • Minimum 4 years relevant working experience as full fledge Marine surveyor in classification society; or 8 years seafaring experience as foreign going engineer; or 10 years experience as Technical
  • Possess a Singapore Class 3 driving license
