Job summary

Bureau Veritas Singapore Pte Ltd seeks an experienced Marine Surveyor to conduct quality inspections of new building constructions and attest vessel conformity to BV rules and IMO/standards. The role requires coordination with stakeholders and timely reporting of survey certificates.

The incumbent will classify/certify surveys, stay updated with regulatory changes, and participate in meetings and trainings, with flexibility for overseas assignments as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture, or Certificate of Competency 1.
• Minimum 4 years as Marine surveyor in a classification society, or 8 years as seafaring engineer, or 10 years as Technical Superintendent.
• Singapore Class 3 driving license.
• PC literate and proficient with office software.
• Willing to travel domestically and overseas with short notice.

Responsibilities

• Undertake classification / certification and statutory surveys and inspections of new construction projects according to rules and regulations.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and ensure all survey / inspection reports (including survey certificates) are factual, objective and submitted within the stipulated format and timeframe.
• Keep up to date with new rules, regulations and technical information or process disseminated through internal communication.
• Participate in meetings (both internal and external) as required.
• Attend all scheduled trainings (locally and overseas) and ultimately achieving specified delegations as agreed in Performance Management Process.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of time & expense sheets.

Mission:

The job incumbent is responsible for conducting quality inspection of new building construction to determine their conformity with specified requirements (BV rules, International Maritime Organizations, National Regulations, Standards IACS Requirements, etc.) or to attest a given situation of a ship.

3. Possess a Singapore Class 3 driving license

5. Able to travel at short notice and accept short to mid-term overseas assignments as required.
