Job summary

Direct Search Global is seeking a Marine Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to the Marine Manager and Superintendents. You will assist with vessel reporting, KPI data collection, and documentation, contributing to efficient vessel management.

The role suits an organized, detail-oriented candidate with 1–3 years in ship management or maritime administration who can work with cross-functional shore-based and vessel teams. Proficiency in MS Office is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Maritime Studies, Nautical Studies, Shipping, or related discipline.
• 1–3 years in ship management or maritime administration; fresh grads considered.
• Familiar with vessel questionnaires (Q88) and KPI reporting.
• Strong numerical, analytical and report-compilation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide daily administrative and operational support to Marine Manager and Superintendents.
• Monitor vessel operations and follow up on outstanding matters with vessels.
• Compile month-end vessel operational and performance reports.
• Collect and consolidate vessel KPI data for management reporting.
• Maintain records of vessel performance, incidents, and inspections.
• Complete and update vessel questionnaires including Q88.
• Coordinate with vessel personnel for timely operational information.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and meeting materials.
• Maintain vessel certificates, records and marine documentation.
• Assist with audits and vessel visits; update procedures and documents.
