Job summary

Focal Search Pte Ltd seeks an operations professional to manage day-to-day ship activities for bulk carriers and owned/subleased tonnage. The role involves verifying dead weight, coordinating stowage plans, and handling port expenditures and vouchers.

You will liaise with Masters, Owners, Charterers, Brokers, and banking teams, preparing hire statements, invoices, and laytime calculations while supporting the chartering teams globally.

Responsibilities

• Operations of commercially managed boats (bulk carriers) as well as owned and contracted tonnage
• Verifying the dead weight computation and stowage plans
• asking about and monitoring port expenditures and managing the corresponding vouchers
• giving Masters instructions for a cruise
• Selecting and corresponding with agents
• Interaction with Owners, Charterers, Brokers, and Masters
• Providing hire statements, credit notes, and bills to Charterers (Vessels Owned/Subleased), including off-hire computation.
• sending charterers freight statements and invoices (basis voyage terms)
• Calculating laytime
• Purchasing a bunker
• correspondence and attendance at claims hearings till arbitration with the P+I Club
• Submission of all invoices and credit notes, together with the management of the banking program
• Give the manager operational help.
• closely coordinating each day with the international chartering teams; Communicate with the finance staff regarding each transaction.
