Job summary

BBGC in Singapore seeks an experienced Marine Business Analyst to join our global technology consultancy. The role connects marine data and delivery teams, supports moving data into the Marine data lakehouse, and translates business needs into technical requirements for developers.

You will collaborate with data scientists and software engineers in an Agile setup to identify predictors, validate data, and deliver actionable insights for vessels, voyages, ports and cargo operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with marine and dry bulk shipping processes.
• Hands-on SQL with large datasets.
• Experience with data lakes / enterprise data environments.
• Business analysis translating requirements to technical teams.
• Experience delivering data outcomes using Agile.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Apply marine and dry bulk shipping knowledge across vessels, voyages, ports, cargoes and voyage operations.
• Partner with the in-house data team to map, validate and transfer marine data into the Marine data lakehouse.
• Work with data scientists to identify inputs and outcomes for Marine use cases.
• Use SQL and analytics tools to interrogate large datasets and produce insights.
• Define problems, elicit and document business requirements for developers.
• Manage delivery timelines, risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies.
• Explore marine technology and AI to improve productivity and decision-making.
• Build relationships with stakeholders to balance business and technical needs.
• Support Agile delivery with backlog refinement, user stories and testing.
