Collins Aerospace in Singapore seeks a skilled Precision Machinist to set up and operate CNC and conventional machines, ensuring precision in milling, lathe work and grinding tasks.

The role requires 2+ years in precision engineering, NITEC/Higher NITEC and basic English proficiency, with weekly rotating shifts on-site to support production and quality objectives.

Qualifications

• NITEC/Higher NITEC in Precision Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of work experience in a precision engineering environment.
• Basic command of written and spoken English.
• Able to work weekly rotating shifts.

Responsabilités

• Set up, operate and maintain CNC and conventional machines (Milling, Lathe, Surface Grinding).
• Set up and maintain measuring equipment for accurate inspection checks.
• Perform basic machine troubleshooting.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Maintain shop records and follow technical drawings.
• Keep work areas tidy and safe; report issues promptly.
• Engage in any other activities or responsibilities as requested by the Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Setup, operate and maintain all types of conventional or CNC machines such as Milling, Lathe, Surface Grinding, Shaping, Hobbing, broaching and conventional machines in the cell/process.
• Setup, operate and maintain all measuring equipment, gages and fixtures for making accurate inspection checks.
• Perform simple troubleshooting of machines.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Maintain pertinent records; Shop-paper and work in accordance to technical instructions and drawings.
• Work in an orderly manner and keeping work areas, benches and machinery in a tidy and clean condition after used.
• Notify the Supervisor timely for any machine or tooling problems which could jeopardize product quality or infringe safe work conditions.
• Engage in any other activities or responsibilities as requested by the Supervisor.

Requirements

• NITEC/Higher NITEC qualification in Precision Engineering or equivalent
• At least 2 years working experience in a Precision Engineering environment
• Basic command of written and spoken English
• Able to work weekly rotating shifts

• Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
• Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
• Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
