Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Singapore is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a team of technicians in the production cell. You will ensure operations run to schedule, meet volume, cost and quality targets, and support CORE and EH&S initiatives.

You will schedule daily output, manage discipline and safety, coach staff, and present analysis to leadership. The role requires a diploma or degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aeronautical Engineering with supervisory experience and willingness to work

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aeronautical Engineering with 2+ years relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year in supervisory/leadership role in a precision engineering environment.
  • Willingness to work bi-monthly rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities of Manufacturing Technicians to meet production specs, schedule, volume, cost, waste and quality targets.
  • Lead and supervise manufacturing technicians to meet product quality and delivery expectations.
  • Manage cell's daily output targets, operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Determine overdue/current load positions and plan daily scheduling and material release.
  • Ensure operator TPM compliance for optimum machine uptime.
  • Lead and facilitate within the assigned area including planning, development, and evaluation of ongoing issues.
  • Coach and develop technicians, establish job expectations and manage performance.
  • Provide analysis and presentation to Leadership when called upon.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by Manager.

What You Will Do
  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of a team of Manufacturing Technicians to ensure that manufacturing operations run according to established production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and quality standards. Responsible for CORE and EH&S initiatives.
  • Lead and supervise manufacturing technicians in cell to meet product quality and customers' delivery expectation.
  • Responsible for managing cell's daily output targets, operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Determine overdue and current load position including looking 3 to 6 months ahead of demand trend to establish daily part scheduling and material release strategy.
  • Ensure operator TPM compliance for optimum machine uptime.
  • Lead and facilitate within the assigned area including planning, developing, implementing and evaluating ongoing operational issues.
  • Responsible for manufacturing technicians' discipline, attendance, safety and quality issues.
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate workflow.
  • Recognize and recommend improvements to increase operational efficiencies.
  • Coach and develop manufacturing technicians' skills, establish job expectations and manage work performance.
  • Provide analysis and presentation to Leadership when call upon.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Diploma or Degree with at least 2 years relevant experience in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering/Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Minimum years of experience in role: At least 1 years in supervisory/leadership role in a Precision Engineering environment; and Must be able to work bi-monthly rotating shifts.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience with specialized knowledge of technical or operational practices.

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
