Job summary

Mindteck Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Software Engineer to develop, enhance, and support manufacturing applications within a Microsoft environment. You will work with Visual Studio, C#, and SQL Server across worldwide operations to ensure reliability and performance.

The role includes modernization of legacy VB/VB6 migrations, troubleshooting production issues, and collaboration with stakeholders and vendors. Some travel to Malaysia may be required.

Manufacturing Systems Software Engineer (MSSQL, Visual Studio (C#/C), Factory Automation Process)

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Systems Software Engineer is responsible for the development, enhancement, support, and maintenance of manufacturing and operational software solutions within a Microsoft technology environment with guidance from his/her mentor. The role requires strong expertise in Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, Microsoft SQL Server, and Windows platforms to develop, integrate, and support business-critical manufacturing applications across worldwide factory operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with his/her mentor together with the respective manufacturing stakeholders, business users, and suppliers to deliver software solutions that improve operational efficiency, support manufacturing processes, and ensure system reliability with guidance assigned to him/her. This role also involves modernization of legacy applications, troubleshooting production issues, and participation in new manufacturing line implementations and enhancements.

Technical Competencies & Requirements

Microsoft Visual Studio / C# Development (Expert)

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Visual Studio development environments with strong C/C# programming expertise.
• Capable of designing and developing new applications and projects to support manufacturing, operational, and process requirements.
• Experienced in understanding and enhancing existing software platforms while ensuring compatibility with hardware, software, and end-user requirements.
• Able to independently analyze, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain complex manufacturing applications and integrations.

Microsoft Windows Systems Administration (Intermediate to Expert)

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, architecture, deployment, and configuration.
• Capable of building and configuring PCs from the ground up, including operating system installation, hardware integration, driver management, and software deployment.
• Able to independently perform system upgrades, migrations, hardware refresh activities, and legacy system support.
• Experienced in diagnosing and resolving operating systems, hardware, and software-related issues.

Microsoft SQL Server & C# Integration (Expert)

• Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server environments and C/C# application integration.
• Skilled in database design, table creation, relational data structures, data validation, querying, reporting, and performance optimization.
• Able to develop end-to-end manufacturing and operational solutions utilizing SQL Server databases and C# applications.
• Proficient in maintaining and enhancing existing database-driven systems while ensuring data integrity and operational continuity.

Legacy System Modernization (Intermediate)

• Experienced in translating and migrating legacy VB/VB6 applications into modern C# solutions.
• Able to preserve business logic and manufacturing process requirements during migration activities.
• Familiar with maintaining standardized software architectures and coding structures to minimize impact on existing manufacturing operations.
• Supports modernization initiatives while ensuring backward compatibility and operational stability.

Manufacturing Systems Software Support

• Provides technical support and consultation for worldwide manufacturing operations.
• Delivers guidance and development support for Microsoft Visual Studio and C# based applications.
• Collaborates with users and stakeholders to understand business requirements and implement process improvements.
• Supports system enhancements, issue resolution, troubleshooting, and operational optimization activities.

Travel Requirements

• Willing and able to travel to local vendor and supplier sites within Singapore for project implementation, technical support, troubleshooting, and escalations with mentor/supervisor.
• Available for occasional day-trip travel to Malaysia for project-related activities and urgent support requirements with mentor/supervisor.
• Able to comply with visa, insurance, and other travel-related requirements as necessary.

Training & Development

• Receives on-the-job training, mentoring, and guidance from supervisors and experienced team members.
• Participates in support, enhancement, and deployment activities for existing and new manufacturing lines.
• Continuously develops technical, operational, and manufacturing process knowledge to support evolving business needs.
