Job summary

ELECTRO SCIENTIFIC INDUSTRIES SINGAPORE PTE. LTD seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support complex laser drilling applications and drive New Product Introduction transfers. You will optimize manufacturing processes, develop robust work instructions, and ensure production readiness for new products.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with design/R&D, implementation of lean principles, and lifecycle management of parts in a high-tech manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
• 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably with laser machining or precision processes.
• Strong knowledge of jig/fixture design, process validation, and lean manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience supporting production teams and resolving technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI transfer and process development for laser drilling applications.
• Design and implement jigs, fixtures, and tooling to improve efficiency and repeatability.
• Provide technical guidance to production technicians and resolve issues quickly.
• Support qualification of OEM End-of-Life parts and manage part transitions with quality/supply chain teams.

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to support complex laser drilling applications . This role is critical in driving New Product Introduction (NPI) transfers , optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring seamless production support. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with hands-on problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality results that meet customer commitments.

Job Duties:

NPI Transfer & Process Development

• Lead manufacturing readiness for new product introductions.
• Collaborate with design and R&D teams to ensure smooth transfer into production.
• Develop and validate robust manufacturing processes for laser drilling applications.
• Ensure work instructions are in placed and accurate for production use.

Process Optimization & Workflow Improvement

• Design and implement jigs, fixtures, and tooling to improve efficiency and repeatability.
• Analyze workflows and implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce cycle time and cost.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production lines.

Production Support

• Provide technical guidance to production technicians to resolve issues quickly.
• Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Ensure production schedules and customer ship dates are consistently met.

Part Qualification & Lifecycle Management

• Support qualification of OEM End-of-Life (EOL) parts and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Develop qualification plans, execute testing, and document results.
• Partner with supply chain and quality teams to manage part transitions effectively.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably with laser machining or precision processes.

• Proficiency in CAD software and statistical process control (SPC).
