Job summary

ELECTRO SCIENTIFIC INDUSTRIES SINGAPORE PTE. LTD is seeking an Industrial Engineering/Manufacturing Engineer to design and optimize production layouts, improve processes, and enhance capacity planning.

The role requires collaboration with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to implement lean improvements and data-driven decisions. Responsibilities include time and motion studies, workflow optimization, SOP development, and supporting factory expansion or reconfiguration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, ergonomics, and process optimization.
• Proficiency in CAD tools for layout design (AutoCAD, MS Visio).
• Analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient production floor layouts.
• Conduct time and motion studies to improve workflow and reduce bottlenecks.
• Optimize material flow, equipment placement, and workspace utilization.
• Analyze existing processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and quality.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma to reduce waste.
• Conduct capacity analysis to support production planning.
• Recommend manpower allocation and equipment utilization strategies.
• Support factory expansion or reconfiguration projects.
• Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare reports and dashboards for management decision-making.
• Monitor KPIs such as productivity, cycle time, and space utilization.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.
• Support new product introduction by designing layouts and processes.
• Provide technical guidance to supervisors and operators.
