Job summary

ELECTRO SCIENTIFIC INDUSTRIES SINGAPORE PTE. LTD is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering background to design, maintain, and improve tooling systems in the manufacturing facility. The role emphasizes equipment reliability, production efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will design tooling, coordinate preventive maintenance, support NPI, and apply Lean/TPM principles to reduce costs while ensuring safety and quality standards across tooling activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in tooling design, fabrication, and maintenance within manufacturing.
• Knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX).
• Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain jigs, fixtures, and tooling to support production.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure tooling meets product and process requirements.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement corrective actions.
• Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for mechanical equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance and reliability, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to resolve mechanical failures quickly.
• Provide technical support to production teams on tooling and equipment usage.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in tooling and maintenance activities.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) by preparing tooling and equipment readiness.
• Identify opportunities to improve tooling efficiency and equipment reliability.
• Apply lean manufacturing and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through tooling optimization and maintenance improvements.
