Job Summary

Perform Manufacturing Engineering activities within Engine Overhaul and Component Repair production areas. Act as the Technical Authority, ensuring the initial and ongoing capability of production methods to consistently produce conforming products, and driving the resolution of technical issues, problems, and deviations to meet business and customer requirements in safety, cost, delivery rate, and lead time (SQCD). Support the integration of all Manufacturing Engineering activities across the product lifecycle and throughout the supply chain.

Job Responsibilities

• Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) – Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards while supporting and upholding the objectives of the Zero Harm programme.
• Product Safety – Identify and manage product safety risks, implementing effective mitigation measures to achieve required safety standards and support the Company’s Safety Management System.
• Quality – Foster a zero-defect culture by ensuring manufacturing process plans are developed, validated, and deployed in accordance with Right First Time (RFT) principles.
• Delivery – Ensure manufacturing process plans are completed and delivered according to schedule, with a strong focus on quality and first-time accuracy.
• Programme Management – Manage and monitor process plan creation activities to ensure adherence to project timelines, including vendor deliverables and timely cross‑functional team (CFT) reviews and approvals.
• Standards & Compliance – Ensure all manufacturing process plans comply with SAESL standards, regulatory requirements, and applicable airworthiness requirements.
• Technical Authority – Define and govern manufacturing engineering process planning methodologies, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and sound technical decision‑making within the assigned area of responsibility.
• Continuous Improvement & Lean – Drive continuous improvement and innovation in manufacturing process planning and methodologies. Identify opportunities, build business cases, and lead the implementation of best‑in‑class practices to enhance operational performance.
• Manufacturing Execution System (MES) – Develop and maintain strong expertise in the Solumina Manufacturing Execution System, ensuring effective utilisation to support manufacturing operations.
• Systems Integration – Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams across SAESL to ensure seamless integration between the MES and SAP systems, enabling accurate operational tracking, billing, and comprehensive record management.

Qualification / Experience

• Degree in Aeronautical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering. Candidates with an Aeronautical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Diploma and relevant experience will be considered.
• Good knowledge of high‑bypass gas turbine engines.
• Good knowledge of material and component repair processes, including welding, machining, painting, and coating.
• Strong communication, analytical, engineering, and project management skills.
• Strong technical problem‑solving skills.
