Job Summary
Perform Repair Development Engineering activities within component repair production areas, acting as Technical Authority to ensure capable and continuously maintained production methods that deliver conforming products, while resolving technical issues to meet Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery (SQCD) requirements and supporting integration of development engineering across the product lifecycle and supply chain.
Job Responsibilities
- Deploy capability (including NPI)
- Responsible for ensuring production readiness for new products, including the establishment of manufacturing capabilities and processes.
- Develop quantitative, real-time methods to capture process capability, ensuring data is accessible and effectively utilized within the facility and across the supply chain.
- Maintain Production Technical Packages (e.g., technical instructions, programs, tooling) for all parts and assemblies, ensuring manufacturing processes and methods are clearly defined and meet requirements for quality, cost, delivery rate, and lead time.
Health, Safety, and Environment
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards, in alignment with the Zero Harm programme expectations.
Product Safety
- Understand product safety risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures to achieve required safety levels, in alignment with the Company’s Safety Management System.
Quality
- Promote a zero-defect culture by developing and implementing manufacturing processes and methods that enable a Right First-Time approach.
Delivery
- Ensure manufacturing processes and methods, both internally and across suppliers, are developed and implemented to consistently achieve Right First-Time production.
- Manage First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities, as well as oversee source and method changes within the assigned cell or area of responsibility.
Cost
- Develop repair methods that meet cost targets, including alignment with Time Repair Manual (TRM) standards and productivity performance metrics.
Technical Authority
- Define Manufacturing Engineering and process requirements and make sound technical decisions within the assigned cell or area of accountability.
Qualification / Experience
- Degree in Aeronautical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (candidates with a relevant Diploma and significant experience will also be considered).
- Strong knowledge of high bypass gas turbine engines.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in aviation MRO engineering.
- Solid understanding of materials and component repair processes, including welding, machining, painting, and coating.
- Strong analytical, communication, engineering, and project management skills.
- Proven technical problem-solving capabilities (e.g., Six Sigma methodologies), with a practical, hands-on approach.
