Job summary

Singapore Aero Engine Services Private Limited (SAESL) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to ensure production methods remain capable of delivering conforming components for the engine overhaul and component repair businesses. You will resolve technical issues to meet SQCD objectives and support lifecycle integration across the supply chain.

You will apply Six Sigma, Lean, and systems engineering to improve performance, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to deploy SAESL OS

Qualifications

  • Degree in Aeronautical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, repair, or overhaul environment.
  • Experience in thermal barrier coatings preferred.
  • Experience in commodity or product ownership advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of robotic systems and functions.
  • Good knowledge of fixture design and masking techniques.
  • Strong communication, analytical, engineering, and project management skills.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills, with Six Sigma methodologies and hands-on approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, qualify, and optimize thermal spray coating processes for shafts, cases, and other critical components.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate product safety risks in compliance with the Company's Safety Management System and Zero Harm programme.
  • Promote a zero-defect culture by developing and deploying manufacturing processes that support Right First Time (RFT) principles.
  • Lead process and product quality investigations and manage the technical requirements of NADCAP accreditation for special processes, including plasma spray and coatings.
  • Apply SPS, DMAIC, Lean, and systems engineering methodologies to improve manufacturing performance, enhance delivery, and reduce the Cost of Non-Quality (CONQ).
  • Collaborate with suppliers, production teams, and cross‑functional engineering teams to deploy and sustain SAESL Operating System standards.
  • Drive productivity improvements and achieve cost targets within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Identify opportunities for process innovation and continuous improvement, develop business cases, and lead the implementation of manufacturing best practices.

The Engine Overhaul business has the capability to service all products in the Trent engine family, this includes Trent 500, 700, 800, 900, 1000 and XWB; SAESL is the only Trent engine MRO that can support all product variants. Job Summary

Perform Manufacturing Engineering activities in Component Repair production areas, ensuring the initial and ongoing capability of production methods to consistently produce conforming products. Resolve technical issues and production challenges to meet Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery (SQCD) objectives while supporting business and customer requirements. Support the integration of Manufacturing Engineering activities across the entire product lifecycle and throughout the supply chain to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualification / Experience
  • Degree in Aeronautical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, repair, or overhaul environment.
  • Experience in thermal barrier coatings is preferred.
  • Experience in commodity or product ownership will be an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of robotic systems and functions.
  • Good knowledge of fixture design and masking techniques.
  • Strong communication, analytical, engineering, and project management skills.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills, with knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies and a hands‑on approach.
