Job summary

HP, Inc. in Singapore is seeking a Manufacturing Development Engineer to support additive manufacturing (3D) operations.

You will own assigned 3D printer sub-systems, transfer knowledge from GBU R&D, and lead cross-functional teams to ensure products meet performance, cost and quality targets for customer shipments. Requirements include a four-year or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering operations.

  • Provide responsive support to factory build issues and escalations related to product performance.
  • Support new 3D NPI printer product industrialization activities under accelerated time-to-market schedules.
  • Participate in product prototyping builds locally or at GBU sites, providing DFx input.
  • Drive and implement change management at manufacturing partner factories to meet requirements.

Description –

Job Summary

  • This role is to support the HP Additive Manufacturing (3D) business in Operations to manufacture and to deliver customer shipment products meeting product performance, costs and quality for business revenue capture. The successful candidate will manage product/process knowledge transfer from GBU R&D and existing workgroup on both Current Products and New NPI and assume the subject matter expert role on assigned product sub-system to support factory operations. The role involves driving partner factory team on production deliverables, influence GBU R&D team and other stakeholders to deliver to Operation goals and priorities successfully. The role involves opportunity to lead project teams and contributing to the realization of operational and strategic objectives.

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with GBU R&D and manufacturing partner factory teams to deliver additive manufacturing (AM) printer products for customer shipment.
  • Act as owner for assigned 3D printer product sub-systems, ensuring product and process engineering performance meets specifications and functional requirements.
  • Provide responsive support to factory build issues and escalations related to product performance in owned sub-systems.
  • Support new 3D NPI printer product industrialization activities under accelerated time-to-market schedules to meet program and business needs.
  • Participate in product prototyping builds locally or at GBU sites, providing DFx input and enabling effective product/process knowledge transfer.
  • Drive and implement change management at manufacturing partner factories to meet product/process engineering requirements.
  • Work closely with GBU and support partners to resolve product/process engineering issues in a timely manner.
  • Respond to post-MR field escalations and customer feedback to ensure satisfaction and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Operations to drive improvements in cost, quality, and factory productivity.
  • Manage manufacturing partner to deliver to factory performance metrics & goals consistently.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other related discipline
  • Typically has 3-5 years of work experience in manufacturing engineering operations or related field
