A global logistics leader in Singapore seeks a Manager for Trade Lane Procurement overseeing APAC to East Coast South America operations. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiations with carriers to secure optimal rates and service levels.
  • Develop target sell rates and manage General Rate Increase cycles.
  • Oversee contract management and ensure compliance with FMC regulations.
  • Develop target sell rates and implement index-linked or fixed-price strategies aligned with market dynamics
  • Manage General Rate Increase (GRI), Peak Season Surcharge (PSS), and amendment cycles to ensure profitability and competitiveness
  • Ensure timely Freightify system updates and maintain accuracy across pricing tools
  • Oversee the creation, amendment, and renewal of NACs and service contracts in close coordination with headquarters
  • Ensure compliance with FMC regulations and support reporting obligations as required
  • Partner with sales and operations teams to align procurement strategies with commercial objectives and allocation planning
  • Coordinate RFQ responses and mini-tenders, ensuring market-aligned, competitive pricing
  • Volume growth and allocation utilization across the trade lane
  • Accuracy and competitiveness of pricing submissions
  • Carrier performance and engagement score

Job Description

The Trade Lane Manager – APAC to East Coast South America (ECSA) is responsible for leading procurement, pricing, and allocation strategies across our East Coast South America countries. The role combines commercial and operational expertise to ensure cost-effective, competitive ocean freight solutions, while maintaining strong carrier relationships and supporting business growth in the ECSA region.

The role operates in a competitive and evolving trade lane environment, connecting APAC origins with West Coast South America. The incumbent must balance carrier procurement strategies, pricing competitiveness, and allocation commitments to ensure sustainable profitability. The position requires continuous collaboration with sales, procurement, and operations teams to secure growth while maintaining compliance with regulatory frameworks. Fluency in English and Portuguese; Spanish is an advantage

Key Accountabilities
Procurement & Supplier Management
  • Lead negotiations with carriers serving the WCSA market to secure optimal rates and service levels
  • Monitor carrier performance, reliability, and capacity across all contracted partners
  • Maintain consistent engagement and strong working relationships with regional carrier contacts
Pricing & Yield Management
  • Develop target sell rates and implement index-linked or fixed-price strategies aligned with market dynamics
  • Manage General Rate Increase (GRI), Peak Season Surcharge (PSS), and amendment cycles to ensure profitability and competitiveness
  • Ensure timely Freightify system updates and maintain accuracy across pricing tools
Contract Management & Compliance
  • Oversee the creation, amendment, and renewal of NACs and service contracts in close coordination with headquarters
  • Ensure compliance with FMC regulations and support reporting obligations as required
Internal Collaboration
