Job summary

ASCOTT INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT PTE LTD is seeking a Manager, Engineering to oversee the Serviced Apartment's engineering and maintenance operations in Singapore. You will lead the department, coordinate with other teams, and ensure safety, efficiency, and quality service across the property.

The role requires 8+ years in relevant work with 3+ years in hospitality management, strong English communication, and practical knowledge of technical systems and maintenance procedures.

Qualifications

• Degree in a related field or technical diploma.
• 8+ years of relevant work experience, including at least 3 years in hospitality in a managerial role.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Knowledge of functions of relevant technical systems and equipment operations.
• Strong management and supervisory abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities of the department. Plan and organize work, communicate goals, and schedule employees to ensure proper coverage.
• Ensure staff are trained and have tools and equipment needed to carry out duties effectively.
• Educate/train employees on safety to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Promote teamwork and coordination with other departments to ensure quality service.
• Maintain and repair interior/exterior of buildings, plants, equipment, guest rooms and contents.
• Execute and achieve preventive maintenance program goals for the serviced apartment.
• Monitor expenses and participate in annual departmental budget.
• Establish and maintain procedures to secure inventory and assets, replenish supplies, and minimize waste.
• Interpret and implement policies; evaluate staff and make hiring/termination recommendations.
• Collaborate with cluster engineers or outside architects on renovations; contact contractors for bids and meetings with construction supervisors.

Job description

Summary

The Manager, Engineering is responsible for monitoring the overall efficiency of the entire Serviced Apartment in the implementation for procedure for services, such as maintenance of the property operations, the M & E operations etc.

JobResponsibilities

1. Mange the daily activities of the department. Plan and organize work, communicate goals, and schedule employees to ensure proper coverage.

2. Ensure all staff is properly trained and have tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties.

3. Educate/train employees on current safety issues to ensure compliance with all federal state and local laws and safety regulations.

4. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.

5. Maintain and repair the interior and exterior of buildings, plants and equipment, guest rooms and contents.

6. Ensure the execution and achievement of the serviced apartment preventive maintenance program goals.

7. Monitors and controls expenses within all areas of the department. Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and finance.

8. Establish and maintain procedures to:

   • ensure the security of inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, television etc.

   • replenish supplies and inventory in a timely and efficient manner,

   • minimize waste.

1. Interprets and implements policies and procedures; evaluates staff and makes hiring and termination recommendations.

2. Work with cluster engineer and/or outside architects regarding renovations and other such projects; contact contractors for bids/ quotations and meet with appropriate construction supervisors.

Responsible for determining the security requirements necessary to ensure that the serviced apartments, employees and guests are protected against any emergency crisis outlined in the Crisis Manual. Manage the relationship with a third party security firm contracted for such purposes.

Performing any other tasks / duties as requested and directed by the Residence Manager or Management.

Qualifications & Experiences

• Degree in a related field/At least a Technical Diploma

• At least 8 years relevant work experience, at least 3 years in the hospitality industry in a managerial position.

• Good written and verbal communication in the English Language, Ability to maintain and repair relevant machinery.

• Knowledge of functions of relevant technical systems and associated equipment and operational procedures.
