The Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore, offers a unique and adventurous 21st century Asian environment in which we train and educate performers, composers, producers and recording engineers to take advantage of future professional and artistic opportunities both in Singapore and in the world. The Conservatory is distinctively international in terms of its faculty, student population and artistic outlook. Our mission is to be a focal point for musical activity, artistic development and research, for Singapore, the Asia‑Pacific region, and beyond.

The Conservatory is seeking a dedicated and resourceful Manager (Development) to advance the Conservatory's mission through building philanthropic support for its artistic and educational initiatives. He/she will be a strategic collaborator in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift donors, which include high net worth individuals, corporations and foundations.

This role involves overseeing and executing all phases of donor engagement and the gift cycle - from prospecting and pitching to gift administration, donor relations and stewardship, and donor recognition. The ideal candidate is a skilled relationship builder, with a passion for forging meaningful partnerships, a strong commitment to societal impact, and possesses excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Cultivate and secure philanthropic support for the Conservatory's programmes and initiatives.
  • Develop gift proposals, pitch to prospective donors, and support the closing of gifts.
  • Manage donor engagement and stewardship, including personalised communication, updates, and events.
  • Handle gift administration and donor recognition processes, ensuring compliance with university policies.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, students and alumni to highlight YST's artistic and educational impact to donors.
  • Work with NUS central offices (Development, Finance, Legal Affairs) to coordinate gift cases and reporting.
Qualifications
  • A relevant university degree, or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong interest in music, and a good understanding of the music industry.
  • Significant experience in fundraising, development, and donor engagement.
  • Collaborative, self‑motivated and adaptable with strong multi‑tasking and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate strong active listening skills with excellent written, communication and inter‑personal skills.
  • High degree of customer service orientation.
  • High degree of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information with respect to prospects and donors' information.
  • Experience in higher education will be a plus.
