Job summary

FOODPANDA SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking an entrepreneurial Manager, Category Management who will be responsible for sourcing and merchandising within foodpanda’s New Verticals team in Singapore.

You will drive category strategy, manage suppliers, and ensure the right selections and pricing to delight customers. The role requires 5+ years in category management or related FMCG experience, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and the ability to operate autonomously in a fast paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or relevant.
• 5+ years' relevant work experience, preferably in FMCG, retail, account and category management.
• Demonstrated track record of successful negotiations, influence and overall relationship management (both internal and external).
• Ability to work autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment, with strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability and desire to contribute to wider team performance and culture.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Great communication skills (both oral and written) are a must.
• Proficient in MS Office & G-suite
• Past Supplier Acquisition experience are good to have

Responsibilities

• Full P&L responsibility for the assigned categories, including revenue, margin & other supplier income.
• Develop and execute aligned category strategies to meet with KPIs
• Ensure pandamart has the right selections and best prices in the market.
• Work with existing suppliers to negotiate cost, funding and terms improvement, secure supplier marketing and advertising spend, and ensure a reliable and operationally effective flow of goods to our fulfilment centre.
• Work to develop new sourcing and extended range to ensure we have high quality, good value goods available to our customers year-round.
• Employ data-driven decision-making to drive the category. Work closely with marketing and supply chain to forecast demand and ensure consistent supply
• Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Imports, Pricing, Strategy, Finance and Marketing to deliver strategic projects that allow pandamart to offer the best customer experience.
• Spearhead commercial initiatives independently while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders

About the opportunity

We are looking for a Manager, Category Management to be based in foodpanda Singapore. This role will be reporting into Lead, Category Management in the Q-commerce team. The Category Management team oversees the strategic planning, development, and execution of product categories within the foodpanda groceries business. You will wear many hats and meticulously plan to scale the Singapore pandamart business.

The candidate should have experience analysing new business opportunities and building strong partner relationships, driving significant top and bottom line results, and be comfortable managing multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced environment. He or she is interested in creating a world-class customer experience, stays on top of industry and competitive trends, and is able to execute at both tactical and strategic levels to achieve long-term growth.
