NYC is seeking dynamic individuals to assist on various projects that contribute to building Singapore’s Network of Networks (NoN) – an innovative ecosystem connecting youth and partners nationwide to build a Singapore that we are all proud to call home. You will help transform the systems that support youth engagement by the government and its partners so that young Singaporeans can be heard, lead change and in doing so, strengthen their commitment to Singapore’s future. You will be part of the Special Projects team responsible for:
- Facilitating and supporting the systematic partnership development across public and private sector organisations to achieve comprehensive youth acquisition, re‑engagement through participation in meaningful opportunities and pulse sensing.
- Implementing and refining internal capability development to effectively forge partnerships with public and private stakeholders. This includes the partnership assessment model used to evaluate organisations based on their strategic value, potential for collaboration and compile their characteristics.
- Researching on international best practices related to youth engagement.
- Through behavioural research, systems and design thinking and strategic partnerships, you will help build meaningful relationships that empower young Singaporeans to lead and contribute to our nation’s future.
What you will be working on:
As Assistant Manager/ Manager (Special Projects), you will be responsible for:
- Growing NYC’s Network of Networks capabilities: i. Support building and management of strategic partnerships across public sector agencies. This includes co‑ordinating across various departments/ units in NYC on the requests for identified partners, assisting in setting up meetings with said partners and following up with partners and internal departments/ units’ post meetings where necessary. ii. Assist in the co‑ordination and development of innovative youth engagement approaches through human‑centred design, creating frameworks and solutions that strengthen youth commitment to Singapore. iii. Support in implementing the partnership assessment model on public sector agencies, evaluating their strategic value, potential for collaboration, compiling a comprehensive report, to include engagement strategies based on the public sector partnership portfolio assigned. iv. Support efforts in synergising the strategic directives with operational activities across NYC, including Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) and Youth Corps Singapore (YCS) to enable effective partnership for the SG Youth Plan.
- Secretariat Duties i. Support secretariat duties for two cross‑department platforms within NYC: the Strategic Partnerships Meeting Platform (linking strategy to strategy operations) and the Partnerships & Engagement Meeting Platform (linking strategy operations to operations across NYC). These platforms facilitate information alignment and help synergise strategies and/or operations across different departments. The team consolidates agenda across NYC to update senior management on partnership progress and develops characterisation of targeted sectors to inform on outcomes of partnership strategies. ii. Support Director (Special Projects) with the monthly Learning Circle for NYC leaders.
What we are looking for:
- Relevant experience in youth engagement, programme development, stakeholder management and partnership building would be beneficial.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in social sector preferred.
