Job summary

Murata Electronics Singapore (PTE) LTD is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to organize activities for the enhancement of production capability in ASEAN factories, including smart technology design, local machine fabrication, and collaboration with Japan HQ.

The role requires coordinating with Japan HQ, providing technical support, planning training for machine engineers, and managing vendors to drive machine design and maintenance across ASEAN facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, robotic engineering or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in machine design or equivalent in manufacturing.
• Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English for coordination with HQ and overseas counterparts.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate policy, strategy alignment and project execution with Japan HQ or other group companies.
• Initiate periodic meetings with Japan HQ or other group companies to solve division issues.
• Provide technical support to ASEAN factories (DX promotion, machine setup, modification and troubleshooting).
• Plan and arrange training sessions for machine engineers in ASEAN factories.
• Manage tasks of Japanese and local vendors.
• Perform machine maintenance capability assessments for overseas factories.
• Develop department policy and propagate it across teams.
• Hold periodic meetings with headquarters and ASEAN factories.
• Manage tasks of subordinates.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Monozukuri Engineering

Reports to: General Manager of Monozukuri Engineering Division

Functional relationships:

• Machinery R&D division in Japan
• Machinery Engineering section in ASEAN factory

POSITION PROFILE:

This position is to organize the activities for enhancement of production capability in ASEAN factories such as smart technology design, local machine fabrication, providing technical support to ASEAN factories and machine design collaboration with Japan HQ.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Policy, strategy alignment and coordination of project by collaborating with Japan HQ or other group company in Japan
• To initiate periodical meetings with Japan HQ or other group company to solve problems in own Division
• To provide technical support to ASEAN factories such as factory DX promotion, machine setup, machine modification and machine trouble shooting
• To plan and arrange training session for machine engineers in ASEAN factories
• To manage the task of Japanese and local vendors
• To perform a machine maintenance capability assessment for oversea factory
• To make department policy and permeate
• To hold periodical meetings with headquarters and ASEAN factories
• To manage tasks of subordinates

Ability/Competency required:

• Bachelor's degree or master's degree in mechanical engineering, robotic engineering or any related engineering field.
• At least 8 years of working experiences in machine design or equivalent in manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in spoken and written Japanese, and business-level proficiency in spoken and written English, to support regular communication and coordination with Japan headquarters, Japanese-speaking business counterparts, and other overseas affiliates.
• Having logical thinking, conceptual skill and good leadership
• Having proactive attitude and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
