Job summary

Murata Electronics Singapore (Pte.) Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive equipment reliability, process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives to support high-quality production operations.

You will analyze equipment performance, lead troubleshooting, plan improvement projects, develop maintenance strategies, and collaborate across Production, Quality, Facilities, R&D, and suppliers to resolve issues and enhance processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
• Fresh graduates welcome; semiconductor/manufacturing experience an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured engineering mindset.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, automation, and engineering principles.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of PLC, sensors, robotics, servo systems, or industrial automation is an added advantage.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and engineering data analysis tools.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and productivity.
• Lead troubleshooting for complex equipment issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Plan, execute, and monitor engineering improvement projects to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment availability.
• Support new equipment installation, machine qualification, process validation, and production ramp-up.
• Perform root cause analysis using structured methodologies (5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA).
• Analyze data to identify trends and propose engineering solutions; collaborate with Production, Quality, Facilities, R&D, and suppliers.
• Prepare engineering documentation, technical reports, work instructions, and SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and company engineering standards.
• Participate in Industry 4.0 initiatives to improve manufacturing capability.
• Mentor technicians and provide technical guidance as needed.

Manufacturing Engineering Division members in Murata Company, including Production Department, Production Engineering Department members and other related departments within Murata group. Involving in parts supply coordination, such as machine manufacturing vendors and technical personnel.

The successful candidate will develop technical expertise in manufacturing engineering by driving equipment reliability, process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives to support high-quality and efficient production operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Analyze manufacturing equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve machine reliability, productivity.
• Lead troubleshooting activities for complex equipment issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Plan, execute, and monitor engineering improvement projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
• Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment availability.
• Support new equipment installation, machine qualification, process validation, and production ramp-up activities.
• Perform root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies (5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, etc.).

Ability/Competency Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Candidates with relevant manufacturing or semiconductor experience will have an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured engineering mindset.
