JOB DESCRIPTION:
Department: Manufacturing Engineering Department
Reports to: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Functional relationships:
- Rationalization department in Japan
- Manufacturing engineering in Japan and ASEAN
POSITION PROFILE:
This position is to propel improvement for manufacturing process in terms of quality, efficiency and manufacturing cost with highly specialized process & product knowledge.
To give technical training for manufacturing post-process to local engineers.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Align policies and strategies with Japan HQ and affiliated companies; coordinate joint projects to support divisional goals.
- Facilitate regular meetings with Japan HQ and related entities to address and resolve operational challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement in product quality through process optimization.
- Lead cost reduction efforts for manufacturing.
- Enhance manufacturing efficiency through process innovation and best practices.
- After implementing rationalization activities, verify actual effectiveness and drive PDCA cycle.
- Manage the transfer and integration of new technologies from Japan factories to local operations.
- Serve as a liaison between Japan rationalization departments to ensure timely access to technical information and its implementation in the factory.
- Monitor emerging technologies and propose improvements in quality, cost, efficiency, and safety.
- Design and deliver structured technical training programs for local engineers.
Ability/Competency required:
- Bachelor’s Degree/master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- At least 5 years of working experience in machine fabrication, design, or a related engineering discipline in electronic manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in spoken and written Japanese, and business-level proficiency in spoken and written English, to support regular communication and coordination with Japan headquarters, Japanese-speaking business counterparts, and other overseas affiliates.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Proactive mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
