Job summary

ByteDance in Singapore is seeking a Growth Algorithms Engineer to lead high‑impact initiatives across BNPL and Cash Loan products in Southeast Asia. You will build scalable systems, optimize funnels, and push incentive and pricing strategies to expand international payments and financial services.

You will own the end-to-end lifecycle from problem framing to experimentation and production deployment, develop large-scale ML models, and pair with product, engineering, and data teams to deliver

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building or optimizing large-scale systems.

• Hands-on experience with modern ML techniques including statistical learning, deep learning, uplift modeling, or large-scale optimization.
• Exceptional analytical and logical reasoning skills.
• Curiosity and ambition to grow with data, algorithms, and AI to drive measurable business impact across global payment products.
• Experience driving user growth in high-traffic environments such as online ads or digital marketing.
• Fintech or financial services project experience in multi-market operations.

• Develop large‑scale machine learning algorithms and build industry‑leading user growth models, leveraging cutting‑edge AI, deep learning, and uplift modeling to accelerate growth in payment and financial products.
• Develop AI‑driven decision systems—including autonomous agents—that continuously learn, adapt, and autonomously execute growth strategies across global markets.
• Partner with product, engineering, and data teams to identify high‑leverage opportunities and deliver measurable, scalable business impact.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification(s):

• 3+ years of experience building or optimizing large‑scale systems in internet, or fintech business, with a strong desire to tackle even larger global‑scale challenges.
• Bachelor's degree or above, strong academic or practical foundation in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Mining, or related fields, with the ability to apply theory to real‑world, high‑impact problems.
• Hands‑on experience with modern ML techniques—including statistical learning, deep learning, uplift modeling, or large‑scale optimization—and enthusiasm for exploring frontier AI such as LLMs and autonomous agents.
• Exceptional analytical and logical reasoning skills, capable of breaking down complex growth problems and designing scalable algorithmic solutions.
• Curiosity and ambition to grow, with a passion for using data, algorithms, and AI to drive measurable business impact across global payment and financial products.

Preferred Qualification(s):

• Experience driving user growth in high‑traffic environments—including online ads, digital marketing, recommendation systems, or automated growth platforms—and enthusiasm for applying these capabilities to global‑scale payment and financial ecosystems.
• Practical experience in fintech or financial services, especially in projects involving large‑scale transactions, risk‑reward optimization, or multi‑market operations, demonstrating your ability to thrive in complex and rapidly evolving business environments.
