Job summary

ByteDance in Singapore is seeking a Software Engineer Graduate (Global Payments) for a 2027 start. You will join the Global Payments team building a robust backend for cross-market money movement and payment workflows.

As a graduate, you will design, develop, test, and operate backend services, connect business systems with payment platform capabilities, and apply AI-assisted tooling to accelerate development. Onboarding date by year end is required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language such as Go, Java, C++, Python, or similar.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, databases, networks, or distributed systems.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, break them into components, and craft practical solutions.

The Global Payments team builds the financial infrastructure that powers commerce at global scale. We enable reliable, secure, and seamless money movement for customers and merchants across markets.

Within the broader team, you may work in one of two closely connected areas:

• Payment Product builds standardized platform capabilities across payments, refunds, settlement, merchant services, billing, and related financial workflows. The team develops reusable products and infrastructure for multiple businesses, markets, and payment methods.
• Payment Solutions partners closely with business and product teams to design and deliver end-to-end payment solutions. The team connects commerce systems with payment platform capabilities, transforming complex requirements into scalable and reliable customer and merchant experiences.
• Together, these teams combine deep payment expertise, large-scale distributed systems, and AI-powered engineering to build the next generation of global commerce infrastructure.

• Participate in technical design, code reviews, production-readiness reviews, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Learn the fundamentals of payment systems and contribute ideas that create measurable customer, merchant, and business impact.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language, such as Go, Java, C++, Python, or a similar language.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, databases, computer networks, or distributed systems.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, break them into clear components, and develop practical solutions.
