Job summary

FPT Asia Pacific Pte Ltd is seeking a backend specialist to design, build, and maintain server-side logic, databases, and APIs powering COMPASS. You will craft scalable microservices, integrate with multiple systems, and ensure security and performance.

The role requires strong experience in Python/Node.js/Java, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native deployments on AWS, along with Docker and Kubernetes familiarity. You will collaborate with frontend and data teams in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in backend software development and building enterprise-grade applications.
• Strong programming proficiency in Python, Node.js, or Java.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including query optimisation and data integrity.
• Experience with message queues, event-driven architectures, and system integration.
• Knowledge of software design patterns, enterprise application architecture, and secure coding practices.
• Experience developing and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile software development practices.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with frontend engineers, data teams, and stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Implement authentication, authorisation and security best practices in backend systems.
• Support testing, deployment, and production operations.
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code; participate in peer reviews.
• Maintain technical documentation and system design artefacts.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives.

• Design and implement scalable microservices and distributed systems.
