Job summary

Good co India is seeking a seasoned Backend Architect to design scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise backend systems. You will guide architecture decisions across teams and ensure best practices in CI/CD, cloud, and security.

Strong hands-on experience with Java Spring Boot, Python, Go, Node.js, or .NET Core, and expertise in microservices, REST/GraphQL, and distributed systems are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/SE or related field required.
• 5–10 years of backend development or software architecture experience.
• Strong design and implementation skills for microservices, APIs, and data models.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Proficient in Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of security, authentication, authorization, encryption, and API security standards.

Role & responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance backend architectures for enterprise applications.
• Define system architecture, microservices, APIs, database design, and integration strategies aligned with business requirements.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and event-driven architectures using modern backend technologies.
• Lead the design of distributed systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, and high availability.
• Collaborate with product managers, solution architects, frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns to deliver robust backend solutions.
• Optimize application performance, database queries, caching strategies, and resource utilization.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud-native deployment strategies using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ensure application security by implementing authentication, authorization, encryption, secure coding practices, and API security standards.
• Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, technical design sessions, and enforce development best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term technical improvements.
• Mentor development teams, provide technical leadership, and drive engineering excellence across projects.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and development standards.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies, cloud platforms, backend frameworks, and software architecture best practices.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5 to 10 years of experience in backend development, software architecture, or enterprise application development.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Strong hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot), Python, Golang, Node.js, .NET Core, or similar backend technologies.
• Proven expertise in designing microservices, distributed systems, REST APIs, GraphQL, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, or Elasticsearch.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, Terraform, and DevOps practices.
• Solid understanding of software design principles, design patterns, Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Apache Pulsar is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
• AWS/Azure/GCP cloud certifications, Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD), TOGAF, or Java/Spring certifications are highly preferred.
