Job summary

Singapore Sailing Port PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced M&E Engineer to coordinate mechanical and electrical works for construction projects in Singapore, including port and marine infrastructure.

The role entails planning, supervising, reviewing drawings and specifications, and preparing technical submissions for timely completion. The candidate will liaise with consultants, subcontractors and site teams, ensuring progress, safety compliance and proper handover documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of M&E coordination or construction execution experience.
• Experience on Singapore construction projects preferred.
• Port, terminal or marine infra project experience a plus.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Mandarin communication would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise M&E installation works per drawings, specs and schedule.
• Review M&E drawings and specs; coordinate interfaces with civil/structural works.
• Prepare technical submissions, material submissions, method statements, RFIs and inspection requests.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to resolve issues and coordinate deliveries.
• Monitor progress and installation quality; arrange inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities with specialist contractors.
• Maintain project documentation including progress reports, as-built drawings and O&M manuals for handover.
• Coordinate with site and safety teams to ensure M&E works comply with procedures and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise M&E installation works in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications and the construction schedule.
• Review M&E drawings and technical specifications, identify discrepancies and coordinate interfaces with civil and structural works.
• Prepare and coordinate technical submissions, material submissions, method statements, requests for information and inspection requests.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to resolve technical issues and coordinate equipment deliveries and installation activities.
• Monitor work progress and installation quality, arrange site inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities with specialist contractors, and follow up on defects and outstanding works.
• Maintain project documentation, including progress reports, inspection and test records, as-built drawings, and operation and maintenance manuals for handover.
• Coordinate with the site and safety teams to ensure that M&E works follow approved work procedures and applicable safety requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in M&E coordination, installation or construction project execution.
• Experience with Singapore construction projects is preferred.
• Experience in port, terminal, jetty or other marine infrastructure construction projects would be an advantage.
• Good understanding of M&E drawings, technical submissions, installation requirements, site inspections, and testing and commissioning procedures.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin would be an advantage, as the role involves technical coordination with Mandarin-speaking project team members and subcontractors.
• Strong coordination, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Willing to work on construction sites.
