Job summary

Singapore Sailing Port Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced M&E Engineer to coordinate mechanical and electrical works for construction projects in Singapore, including port and marine infrastructure.

You will plan, review and supervise installation activities, liaise with consultants and subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle. Experience in port or marine projects and AutoCAD proficiency are preferred, with Mandarin a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical or electrical or building services engineering.
• Minimum 3 years in M&E coordination, installation or construction.
• Singapore project experience preferred.
• Marine infrastructure experience advantageous.
• Proficient in M&E drawings, submissions and testing procedures.
• AutoCAD and MS Office proficiency.
• Mandarin will aid coordination with project team (advantage).

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise M&E installation works per drawings and schedule.
• Review M&E drawings and specs; identify discrepancies and coordinate interfaces.
• Prepare submissions, material submissions, method statements, RFIs and inspection requests.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams for issues and deliveries.
• Monitor progress and installation quality; arrange site inspections and corrective actions.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities with specialists; address defects.
• Maintain project documentation including progress reports, inspection and test records, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals.
• Work with site safety teams to ensure M&E works follow procedures and safety requirements.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced M&E Engineer to coordinate mechanical and electrical works for our construction projects in Singapore, including port and marine infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise M&E installation works in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications and the construction schedule.
• Review M&E drawings and technical specifications, identify discrepancies and coordinate interfaces with civil and structural works.
• Prepare and coordinate technical submissions, material submissions, method statements, requests for information and inspection requests.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to resolve technical issues and coordinate equipment deliveries and installation activities.
• Monitor work progress and installation quality, arrange site inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities with specialist contractors, and follow up on defects and outstanding works.
• Maintain project documentation, including progress reports, inspection and test records, as-built drawings, and operation and maintenance manuals for handover.
• Coordinate with the site and safety teams to ensure that M&E works follow approved work procedures and applicable safety requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in M&E coordination, installation or construction project execution.
• Experience with Singapore construction projects is preferred.
• Experience in port, terminal, jetty or other marine infrastructure construction projects would be an advantage.
• Good understanding of M&E drawings, technical submissions, installation requirements, site inspections, and testing and commissioning procedures.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin would be an advantage, as the role involves technical coordination with Mandarin-speaking project team members and subcontractors.
• Strong coordination, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Willing to work on construction sites.
