We seek an M&E Manager to lead planning, coordination and execution of Mechanical & Electrical works for commercial fit-out projects, ensuring compliance, quality, and on-time delivery. The role involves reviewing drawings, coordinating with project teams and subcontractors, and managing ACMV, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection to ensure successful submissions, testing and handover.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Building Services.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant M&E experience.
• Strong knowledge of ACMV, electrical, plumbing and sanitary systems.
• Familiarity with Singapore building codes and submission processes.
• Ability to read and coordinate M&E drawings with architectural drawings.
• Strong coordination and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all M&E works for commercial interior fit-out projects.
• Review M&E drawings, specifications, and site requirements for feasibility.
• Collaborate with PMs, designers, QS, QP/PE, landlords and subcontractors.
• Identify and resolve clashes between M&E and other trades.
• Coordinate M&E submissions, inspections, testing and commissioning.
• Manage M&E subcontractors and ensure compliance with drawings and specs.
• Monitor site progress, workmanship, safety, and schedules.
• Participate in site and technical coordination meetings.
• Review subcontractor quotations and M&E costs with QS.
• Troubleshoot M&E issues during construction and handover.
• Ensure testing, documentation and handover of M&E systems.
• Support multiple projects simultaneously and attend site nights.

Job Summary

The M&E Manager leads the planning, coordination, and execution of Mechanical & Electrical works for commercial interior fit-out projects, ensuring compliance, quality, and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works, including ACMV, electrical, plumbing & sanitary, fire protection, and related building services for commercial interior fit-out projects
• Review M&E drawings, specifications, and site requirements to ensure accuracy and feasibility before work commencement
• Collaborate with Project Managers, designers, Quantity Surveyors (QS), Qualified Persons/Professional Engineers (QP/PE), landlords, consultants, and M&E subcontractors to align project objectives
• Identify and resolve clashes between M&E services, architectural works, and other trades by providing practical site solutions
• Coordinate M&E submissions, approvals, inspections, testing, and commissioning to meet regulatory and project standards
• Manage M&E subcontractors to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements
• Monitor site progress, workmanship quality, safety standards, and adherence to completion schedules
• Participate in site and technical coordination meetings to address project issues and updates
• Review subcontractor quotations, variation works, and M&E-related costs in collaboration with QS and project teams
• Troubleshoot M&E issues during construction and post-project handover to maintain system integrity
• Ensure thorough testing, commissioning, documentation, and handover of M&E systems for project completion
• Support multiple commercial fit-out projects simultaneously as required
• Attend site works, including night shifts, particularly for retail and commercial projects

Required competencies and certifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of relevant M&E experience, preferably in commercial interior fit-out or renovation projects in Singapore
• Strong practical knowledge of ACMV, electrical, plumbing, and sanitary systems
• Familiarity with Singapore building codes, landlord requirements, and relevant authority submission processes
• Ability to read, review, and coordinate M&E drawings with architectural drawings
• Good understanding of site installation methods, testing, and commissioning procedures
• Strong coordination and problem-solving skills to manage subcontractors and project teams effectively
