Job summary

JOB LIONS PTE. LTD. is seeking a senior M&E Engineer to lead planning, coordination, and supervision of mechanical and electrical works for building projects.

You will review drawings, manage clashes, and provide expert support to installation teams and subcontractors to guarantee quality and regulatory compliance. The role requires strong communication and stakeholder management with experience in ACMV, Electrical, fire protection, and lifts systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant M&E engineering experience in building projects.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience working with Main contractors or M&E contractors.
• Proven experience in ACMV, Electrical, Fire protection & alarm, sanitary piping & gas, Lifts & escalators.

Responsibilities

• Assist M&E Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising M&E works.
• Prepare and coordinate shop drawings, submissions, RFIs and method statements.
• Review M&E drawings against other trades to identify clashes and discrepancies.
• Provide technical support during installation ensuring compliance with drawings and regulations.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and rectify non-conformances.
• Prepare M&E work schedules, material tracking, and manpower forecasts.
• Coordinate with consultants to resolve technical issues and obtain approvals.
• Verify subcontractor material submissions and procurement tracking.
• Support Testing & Commissioning activities with procedures and sign-offs.
• Maintain project documentation and QA/QC submissions.
• Attend project and safety meetings and report progress.

Job description

Job Descriptions:

1. Assist the M&E Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising all Mechanical & Electrical works to ensure timely and quality installation according to project requirements.
2. Prepare, review, and coordinate shop drawings, technical submissions, RFIs, and method statements with consultants, subcontractors, and vendors.
3. Review M&E drawings against architectural, structural, and other trade drawings to identify clashes, omissions, and technical discrepancies prior to site execution.
4. Provide technical support to M&E Supervisors and subcontractors during installation, ensuring works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and authority regulations (SCDF, BCA, PUB, EMA, NEA, LTA).
5. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work progress, verify workmanship quality, and ensure prompt rectification of non-conformances.
6. Assist in preparing M&E work schedules, material tracking lists, and manpower forecasts to support smooth site operations and adherence to project milestones.
7. Coordinate with consultants to resolve technical issues, clarify design intent, and follow up on comments until approval is obtained.
8. Verify subcontractor material submissions, manage procurement tracking, and ensure timely delivery of long-lead items.
9. Support Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities by preparing test procedures, monitoring testing progress, and ensuring proper documentation and sign-offs.
10. Maintain accurate project documentation such as inspection forms, T&C records, as-built drawing updates, and QA/QC submissions.
11. Attend project, technical, safety, and coordination meetings to report M&E progress, highlight issues, and follow up on action items.
12. Ensure all relevant M&E works comply with RA, SWP, and permit-to-work procedures in coordination with the WSH team.
13. Track and verify M&E progress for monthly reports, progress claims, variation work assessments, and material quantity checks.
14. Provide guidance to junior engineers or coordinators to improve technical understanding, coordination ability, and documentation quality.
15. Strong understanding of M&E systems, design principles, local codes, and construction practices.

Job Requirements:

1. Minimum 5 years of relevant M&E engineering experience in building projects (commercial, industrial, or data center preferred).
2. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
3. Experience working with Main contractors or M&E contractors.
4. Experience managing M&E works for commercial, industrial, mixed development or institutional projects.
5. Proven experience in M&E systems installation, coordination, testing and commissioning.
6. Proven experience in ACMV, Electrical, Fire protection & alarm, sanitary plumbing & gas, Lifts & escalators, swimming pool.
7. Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
8. Able to work independently and drive project deliverables with minimal supervision.
