Job summary

LONG HIN (S) PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced M&E Cost Estimator to analyze project specifications and prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical and mechanical components on complex construction projects.

You will develop budgets, monitor expenditures, negotiate with subcontractors, and lead M&E teams to meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Specialist Diploma in M&E Coordination.
  • Holding a Professional Engineering (PE) certification or other relevant qualifications in M&E engineering is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Singapore's construction industry.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills with all internal and external teams involved in the project.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates for M&E components.
  • Develop and manage budgets for M&E aspects of construction projects.

  • Lead M&E teams, providing guidance for successful project completion.
  • Manage M&E aspects of construction and tender projects.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating contracts.
  • Ensure M&E systems meet standards and specifications, adhering to regulations and standards.
  • Identify and address potential risks to prevent delays.
  • Develop and manage project schedules to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain accurate records, including project plans, drawings, and technical specifications, to support project documentation and future maintenance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for M&E related matters, addressing client concerns and providing regular updates on project progress.
  • Resolve technical issues and challenges related to M&E systems promptly, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and objectives.
  • Fulfill other assigned duties or related tasks as required by management.
