Summary / Objective

The Logistics Assistant supports both the warehouse and logistics functions by overseeing daily store operations and assisting with logistics coordination. This role will supervise and lead the Storeman to ensure efficient and organized storage, and will also act as a backup to the Logistics Executive during their absence. The Logistics Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting goods movement, and ensuring compliance with company standards.

Essential Functions
  1. Lead and supervise the Storeman in daily store operations, including receiving, storing, issuing, and dispatching goods.
  2. Oversee the housekeeping, organization, and security of the warehouse and storage areas.
  3. Organize storage layout for safe, accessible, and space-efficient stock placement.
  4. Ensure stock records are updated promptly and accurately and assist with periodic stock takes and inventory checks.
  5. Monitor and ensure adherence to stock management procedures, including clear labelling and storage of items.
  6. Ensure proper handling, stacking, and storage of goods to prevent damage or hazards.
  7. Assist the Logistics Executive with transport scheduling and vendor coordination as required, including lorries for land transport and passenger launches for sea transport, as well as full executive oversight of 2 pickups and 3 service boats, and coordination with third-party vendors.
  8. Take over logistics planning and coordination during the absence of the Logistics Executive.
  9. Communicate effectively with the Purchasing team, Technical Team, Workshop Team and internal users to fulfill material and logistics needs.
  10. Ensure compliance with the Company’s Quality and Safety Management (QSM) procedures.
  11. Contribute suggestions to improving warehouse and logistics efficiency.
  12. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Procurement Manager.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position directly oversees the Storeman and supports other logistics activities.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and Saturday 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience
  • Minimum Diploma & minimum two to three years of experience in both warehouse and logistics role, experience in marine industry preferred.
  • Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse procedure and logistics processes.
  • Organized and able to plan daily store activities efficiently.
  • Able to lead and provide clear direction to the Storeman
  • Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
  • Honest, dependable, and ethical in handling company property and information.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills.
  • Confident in coordinating multiple internal and external parties to achieve objectives.
  • Calm under pressure and able to adapt to unexpected challenges.
  • Team-oriented, with a willingness to support both store and logistics functions.
  • Physically able to oversee warehouse activities, including executing manual loading and unloading when necessary.
